    This was a very fun read-lots of laughs, gossip and drama. It's very feminist for a classic novel + it's good social commentary on "high society" folks and I found the cultural dynamic between the English and American folks very fascinating.

    This is so beautiful! In the 2023 series adaptation Guy says to Nan moments before he has to leave with Jinny “deep abiding love has to win, doesn’t it?” and to that Nan replies “somehow”.
