There's nothing more I love than a book which sculpts its characters intricately, with each scene and description meaning something. There's symbolism and parallels all over, which I'm a sucker for. Paul and Julian's love gave me both the high and disgust- it's raw, bittersweet and tragic in a way that makes my heart ache.
I also loved the unpredictable nature of it, how whenever I thought something greater (and more disturbing for that matter) would've happened it completely steered in the other direction, and vice versa- how that one event of simply walking through the forest suddenly became so violent.
And also... My poor baby Julian, oh god. Move Paul, it's MY turn
