I thought I had forgiven

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

“But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.”

John 4.23
“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.”

Either we have forgiven and are able to remember and talk about everything without reservations and without pain, or we have not forgiven and there are still areas inside of us that need healing that is released only by real forgiveness

To forgive is not to forget, but to remember without any pain involved.

And, when we say ‘prison’ here, we are talking about the internal prison found inside of those who have not been able to forgive, and not inside of those who were not forgiven.

Either we forgive or imprison!

the one “who claims he is in the light but hates his own brother, is still walking in darkness” (1 John 2.9).
