Wandering souls

I slowed down, unable to break away from the red tandem — a girl and a motorcycle.

The girl raised her hand and screamed, and there was a scraping of metal and a crash. Turning around, I saw how the trolleybus flew into a pole with an advertising banner. Which fell on me.

Everyone scattered. My turnaround pin got stuck in the heat-softened pavement. Trying to escape from captivity, I watched the banner fall on me. Blow, crash, pain…
