Barbara Phinney

After retiring from the military, Barbara Phinney decided she needed a creative outlet. Reading had always been a passion for her, so she took the next step and began to write. She wanted to write for a genre that was both exciting and challenging. And what could be more challenging than trying to sort out other people's lives, motives and how they grow to love another person more than themselves? And that's how Barbara chose romance writing. After writing too many bad manuscripts to count, Barbara finally linked up with other romance writers and the Romance Writers of America. They encouraged her, critiqued her work and in the case of her critique partners, allowed her to wail on their shoulders when the rejections came. Just before she finally moved into a travel trailer while her dream home was being built, she sent a manuscript to Silhouette, thinking she had plenty of time to settle into her new home before she heard anything from the publisher. Little did Barbara know that an editor had read the story and was trying to get in touch with a contract offer. Barbara claims to be the only writer to get "the call" in a letter! With no computer or furniture, Barbara managed to polish Trust No One and get it out under the deadline. Of course, nowadays, Barbara is in her new home, and when she's not volunteering at her children's school, feeding silly yet lovable chickens, or hiking in the woods behind her house, she writes exciting new stories in her new office. Barbara invites her readers to contact her. You can visit her Web site, e-mail her at barbarap@eastlink.ca, or write to her at P.O. Box 6352, Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada, E4L 1G6.
