Last month,I had practically worked my ass off to complete the plan.
I was in charge of it.
I had made sure everything was perfect.
What could have possibly gone wrong?!
“I don’t know.We’ll find that when we get there.”Ethan replied,nervously as we walked towards the CEO’s office.
I could tell Ethan was fidgeting as he shakily knocked on the door.
“Come in”Declan’s voice rung the air.
We slowly walked in.
No one needed to tell us that he was beyond angry.
“Who took the parameters?!”He asked,lividly.
I gulped.
The parameters were all taken by Audrey.
I had asked her if she was fit to work on the project with us and she had assured me that she was.
Her mother had been in a critical condition last month.
She must have made the mistake.
“Oh…there’s a problem with the parameters?”Ethan let out,frustratedly.
“I want the person in charge of the parameters in my office now!This has caused a big loss to the company.We must have them fired!”Declan barked as he furiously undid the top button of his shirt.
“I’ll go and….”
“Mr Hudson,I don’t think it’s time to punish the person who made the mistake.I think the best thing to do right now is look for a solution to the problem.”
Audrey is my good friend.

I stared at Declan again.
Did he perhaps send her away because he knew she makes me uncomfortable?
Butterflies were flowing massively in my stomach.
“It seems you guys had a nice time last night…He seemed to be in a very good mood.”
I tried to stop blushing.”How do you know that?”
“I saw him jogging hours ago with a smile on his face.”
He went jogging while I slept until afternoon?
He’s very strong,I’ll give him that.
That afternoon was spent sightseeing….The resort had so many beautiful sceneries.
I didn’t see Declan the whole time and I felt a little disappointed.
Audrey walked up to me.
“What’s wrong?”
“I’m just a little bit tired.”
“I think you’ve done enough sight seeing for today.You and the baby needs rest.”
I smiled at her.”Yes ma’am.”
I walked back to the VIP area.
When I walked into the lodge,I saw Stella walking out with some files in her arms.
“Hello,Mrs Hudson.”
In private,she treated me so respectfully and politely.
In public,she didn’t give me any preferential treatment.
Maybe this was why Declan didn’t want to reveal our relationship yet.

I glanced down at the brooch.
Maybe it’s indeed a lucky thing.
No one placed a bid after that and the host was about to end the auction when a loud voice rung the air.
“Eight hundred thousand dollars!”
I gasped.
That was Declan!

This was so laughable.
I can say I’m stunned that she really thinks I’m a big threat to her marriage.
My sister had really changed completely…
This was the height of it all.
She continued crying.
“My father in-law and mother-in-law looked so displeased…they actually looked down on my family’s background today.How could you do this to me?”
“Ash,calm down…you should know better than this that your sister would never give such a thing to your daughter.”My mom said,calmly.
I crossed my arms and only stared at Ashley.
If only my mom knew that she had done this to herself.
“I think what you should do now is find the person that sent that…I should give Edgar a call…he should carry out an investigation on that party hall so we can know who’s posing as a threat to your child.”
Ashley wiped away her tears away.”.
“You don’t have to call him…we’re already carrying out an investigation.“
I tried not to laugh.
“Why would you even suspect your sister in the first place?”My mother asked.

She stood properly but he still didn’t let go of her.
“Thank..thank you.”She murmured and gestured at him to let her go.

He stared at her eyes…her nose…her lips….
He lowered his head and pressed his lips to hers.

My eyes bulged out of their sockets as Calvin’s lips met mine.
I lifted up my hands and pushed him away from me.
My cheeks grew hot as I turned away from him.
“Tessa,I’m…I’m so sorry.”He apologized,remorsefully.
“Dinner’s ready!”Sophie’s voice rung the air.
“We…we should go eat.”I let out,awkwardly and went off to the bathroom to wash my hands first.

At dinner…I focused fully on the meal in front of me.
I felt so shy to look up at him.
I felt his eyes on me but each I looked up,he would look away.

“I will pack your goods for you.”He suggested.
I watched as he sat on a small stool and carefully put the goods into a box.

With Leah in Declan’s arms,I squatted down beside Jayden and began to pack up the products he had put into the box.I taped them one after the one and wrote the addresses on them.
Declan left the house with Leah.
I had gotten used to him taking her out anytime he wanted…
Soon,Jayden and I finished arranging the goods and he sat on the couch eating an apple.
I started to tidy up the place when Declan came back with a sleeping Leah.
I quickly laid out a small pillow and mattress on the sofa.
Declan gently placed her on it and covered her body with a quilt.
“Where did you two go to today?”
“The playground down the street….she had ice cream.”He replied and stared at me…
Our eyes locked and it was as if time had slowed….
There was this look in his that made me….that made me….
I quickly straightened and looked away from him….
Nothing…I feel nothing.

As I stared at our wedding pictures hung on the wall…it still feels so amazing how ten years had gone by already…

As at that day,she was yet to forgive Declan but nearly a year after that,he got her to forgive him…
And after so many years,she doesn’t think I made a bad decision anymore…
Tomorrow was our tenth wedding anniversary and I felt so excited about it…
Declan seemed to be choked up with work this week and he was clearly making no plans for tomorrow but I was…
I own my very own accounting firm now…sure, my husband had helped greatly in starting it up but he kept saying I was excelling because I am the most hardworking woman he knows…
