Lynn Patrick

The "Lynn" of the Lynn Patrick team, Linda Sweeney has been writing since 1983. She was born in a small town in Iowa, though Chicago is now her home. Linda is a reading specialist and literacy professor at Chicago City Colleges. As an educator, Linda is very interested in how popular culture can enhance literacy, using movies, television, and art in reading and writing classes. She has served as a member of the adult jury of the Chicago International Children's Film Festival for four years. Writing for Heartwarming, Linda loves to use humour and to give characters pets, since she is crazy about animals. Many of the characters in Lynn Patrick's books were inspired by Linda's nieces, nephews, and little great-nieces and nephews.
