Discover the divine language of numbers with The Mystical Meaning of Numbers in Sacred Scripture, a timeless work by the influential Doctor of the Church, St. Isidore of Seville (560–636), now available in English for the very first time. As a prolific author who also served as the bishop of Seville, Spain, St. Isidore unveils how sacred authors used numbers to convey important messages and to infuse mystical symbolism into Scripture.

Part of TAN’s celebrated Resurrection Series, this beautiful translation by Fr. Robert Nixon, OSB, opens the world of biblical numerology, long understood as key to unlocking mysteries of deep spiritual significance. The authors of Sacred Scripture, writes Fr. Nixon, understood that “the universe was a harmonious and precisely numbered ordered system, reflecting through this numerical ordering the glory and beauty of the Deity.” Because these numbers are spiritually significant, St. Isidore intends to equip readers “with the knowledge and insights to penetrate their hidden and mystical meanings.”

This edition offers thoughtful enhancements from Fr. Nixon, including:A faithful, yet accessible English translation from the original Latin
