Jude is staying on the Isle of Barra in the Outer Hebrides. On her walk home after a night out at a dance at the north end of Barra, she hears a sound which brings an unexpected change to her life. Who is Ruari Mor? How does he know about her even though they have never met before? Is he really of the Selchie - the Seal People who can take on human lives and suddenly become seals again?
