For thirty years, she told the story of how she saved her sister. She had it wrong.

Marcia Thompson remembers the day a stranger tried to pull her little sister into his car in the Philippines, and how she held on until help came. It's the story she's told her whole life.

Then her adopted children are taken from her home in Hawaii, and something cracks open. Nightmares. Flashbacks. When Marcia finally asks her mother about that day, the answer stops her cold. The man didn't grab her sister. He grabbed Marcia.

If she got that wrong, what else has she forgotten?

An Army officer, wife, and mother, Marcia is used to holding it all together. Now, with her faith, a counselor who believes her, and a husband who won't walk away, she must find the frightened little girl she left behind.

Inspired by a true story, I Met Her Before is an honest, hope-filled novel about faith, therapy, and the courage it takes to heal.

"This story represents so many women that have sat across from me in my counseling office!" — Meichell Worthing, LPC
